Ok I am wanting to start working on the tank but wanted your guys input what is the best way to deal with the dents on the tank or should I just use some body filler

Also does anyone have a source for the green paint I had some mixed up at a local paint shop but I'm not very happy with it

Fixing dents and rust in gas tanks take a lot time and patience. I suggest starting with this one:

Anyone know of aftermarket replacement rear shocks for 74 DT250? Or somewhere that can rebuild the originals.

For the paint, try Randy Marble at www.marblemotors.com . For the tank repairs, filler works fine for small and shallow dents but I would not use on large dents. For the inside, POR15 makes a good kit for motorcycles and it works great and is silver so it looks good inside the tank unlike that cream stuff.

I just completed my 1974 DT250 and the tank was pretty rough. There is a picture of it on my profile page. Good luck!

shcbuck, would love to see more pic's of your DT250A, on another post of course.
That is an outstanding resto from what I can see on your profile page. :likey :likey :likey
I also have in patina state the original virgina gold tanks. Will restore these at some point to like new condition.

Tplatt, the original shocks are hard to source rebuild kits for, & expensive, your best bet is aftermarket period correct shocks like Redwings, made in Japan during those production yr's.
