1972 Yamaha Enduro 175 by high school class (revisited) #1
Some of you may remember me, and probably thought I had fell off the face of the earth. I am a High school mechanics teacher who had bought a 1972 CT 175 in a basket for my classes to restore. I cannot find my original thread, or I would have continued there. I would like to pick back up here and explain what happened. We were doing great, and made lots of progress. I had so much positive support from everyone here. Then life took a nasty turn for me. At the end of last years school year, I had a vertebrae fail and was told if I let it go I could face permanent nerve damage. I finished the school year and waited until the first week out of school to have a fusion surgery. My surgery did not go well and had nerve entanglement that was unforeseen before the surgery. I was left partially disabled and was unable to do anything other than learn to walk again. I am now moving around and doing pretty well thanks to a prosthetic device. I got back to teaching again, and then along comes Covid 19 to knock us back again. I am now teaching virtual online classes. We have picked back up on the Yamaha. Last year we had hit a brick with wiring, but my cousin is getting it all sorted out for us. Here are a couple pictures of the bikes latest status. I hung the tank and some parts temporarily just for the pictures. It feels good to be back among the living and doing what I enjoy. I felt I owed you all this long explanation. This bike will be completed, and I hope to be posting more soon. And yes Bill, I will have some students riding it. God bless you all and thanks for all your support.

Hey buddy. Welcome back. Sorry to hear of your hardships. Must've been a hard row to hoe. But I am glad you are back and look forward to hearing more about the project.

Here is what I believe to be your previous thread.

Glad to see you back. I missed the reports on the HS project. Good on you for what you do with the kids. Excited to see the progression.
I wish I had a teacher like you in HS.

Welcome back, I am sure we all hope you will be feeling as good as as she is going to look at the end of the project - which is going to be great because it's already looking fantastic. Thanks for the update!

Sure is good to hear from you again. Very sorry to hear about your back. I have 2 disks in my lower back that are 1/2 the normal thickness. The Chiropractor is keeping me away from the surgeon as long as possible.

The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

Likewise, huge well wishes from a fellow CT-2 owner on your continued improvement. Bike's looking good. I retired from teaching (28 years after 15 years performing in the public/private sector), and I can't imagine having to teach online like everyone is doing these days.
Again best wishes!
