Aftermarket Reeds for a 1977-79 DT400 #1
Hi, having my DT400 rebuilt for methanol and am collecting some bits. I can get Boysen fibreglass reeds for it, but does anyone have any ideas about what else will work? Other models etc.. I'll be racing dirt track with this bike so need something to keep up with the revs.

Thanks

Rod

do you have the bolt pattern measurements Center to center ? I will soon be porting a 78 dt 400 and need the measurements as I'm wanting to fit V force reeds to it , I can let you know if I find some that will work , I was actually on the phone with tech there today . It would be waaay better for you than Boyesen dual stage , By the way fiberglass and carbon fiber will have a short life with methanol , it attacks the resins in both .

Hope this helps. Digital Vernier calipers can be a bit of a PITA being so exact sometimes.

Methanol shouldn't be too much of an issue as after every meet I unhook the tank, drain the tank, hook up bottle to the carby with normal 2T fuel and run the bike with this to flush out all the methanol. They might have a slightly shorter life span.

Cool! Would I notice any improvement on my stock 78 DT400? I probably already have the original boyesen reeds in it if I recall.
