JT1 Paint codes was created by usurp66

Hi All,
Can anyone advise on the correct yellow to use for the mudguard stripes on a JT1?
I know the correct main colour is Desert Orange but can't seem to find info on the stripes.
Many thanks.

The JT1 Had Desert Orange with a White Stripe on the fenders..
The JT2 Had Mandarin Orange with the Yellow Stripe on the fenders.

Are you looking for the paint code of the JT2?

Many thanks.
My JT1-L has come to me in Manadarin orange with the yellow stripe but has obviously been repainted (not very well) at some point in it's past.
I am restoring it as close as possible to original so will look at the Desert orange option.
Do you have any idea re the correct white colour?

What is the VIN # on your bike ? if you want it to be the same color as it came from the factory..... I would have to verify which bike it is first..

The reason I am asking is that the 1971 JT1L ( Dessert Orange/ white stripe Mini Enduro) did not come from the factory with a key switch, speedometer / or a VIN sticker..
The bike in the picture has all the things that the 1972 JT2L (Mandarin Orange/ Yellow stripe ) came from the factory with....
The JT1L Vin # goes JT1-2xxxxx
The JT2L Vin# goes JT1-3xxxxx

Ah, That would explain a lot.
My VIN is JT1-318584 so it must be a JT2-L
I didn't even know that there was such a thing as a JT2-L, I couldn't find any info for it.
Many thanks, it's forced a re-think as I love the Desert red colour and think it suits the bike much better than the Mandarin red which is the same as my YR5, it looks great on the YR5 but not so sure about the little JT2-L.
Many thanks for the info, much appreciated. :likey

The JT2L Model label was only used in repair reference. The Actual sales literature
for your bike is the JT2 Model that is shown in these sales brochures.
This is what your bike looked like from the factory. But of course its your bike and you can paint it
what ever color your heart desires!! Have fun!!

That's fantastic, Many thanks.
Although I like the Desert Red I know it would niggle at me that it wasn't the correct colour so I think I will go with the original scheme.
There is a great paint company in the UK that deals specifically with bike paints, rsbikepaint.com they can get me the correct Candy Mandarin Orange used.
Apparently the yellow used for the stripe is Competition Yellow which they also supply.
Again many thanks for all the help
Regards,
Brian

Can someone help me find paint to match my 1971 Yamaha JT1 (JT1-001334) mini enduro.  I believe it may be considered Desert Red.  I'm in the process of restoring it so need the paint because I'm going to buy an oem gas tank vs. spend $300 for my tank to be refurbished.

Thanks in advance,
Kathy

Welcome!

Technically the color is called "Desert Orange".  Marbles Motors probably has it but it won't be cheap.

If you managed to find an OEM tank in good condition it might be better/easier to have the tank paint matched at a good paint store.

There is also a paint thread that might have some good match info someone has come up with...  not sure if it has desert orange but might be worth a look..  yamaha-enduros.com/index.php/forums/gene...a-paint-matches#1857

Mini Enduro Man might be able to help out too...
