My first brand new bike purchase was a Honda SL100. Almost exactly the same bike. It was a blast to ride and reliable as an old farm tractor.

You done good! Post a build thread in the other bikes section when you get working on it!
IF it isn't one thing, it's another.

Nice! A slightly used SL 125 was my first bike.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that attaches the handlebars to the seat

I've already started the search for some parts I know I need. :Ugh

I'm surprised how big it is, it's almost the same size as the DT

A little update. Getting the bond title was a pain because the lady at ADOT couldn't see the vin #'s & I mentioned that maybe she needed new glasses and it was all down hill after that :Ugh
Good/bad news; Piston was stuck, cleared that & broke a ring, I honed the cylinder, the stock bore is good. Head is very good, The lower end & gears were still in oil and are in Very Good condition, even the clutch plates seemed to survive. I picked up a new set of rings & a gasket/seal kit. I'm just going to pull the side covers to clean & polish, rebuild the carb.

the exhaust only needs paint. I'm going to take the tank to a dent specialist to see if he can pop it out.
New cables have arrived!
It was missing the front brake lever on the brake plate. because of such bad price gouging around, I was patient & was able to buy the entire front brake plate/lever with working cables for less than an oem (rusted) lever was.

When I get all this done :Coffee Then I'll fire this green gem up and decide how far I want to go/.......I will do some pics & all in a thread when there is something to show..She's a nice bike, I had an SL100 many years ago & always thought it just needed a little more power. This 125 seems bigger overall, more like a 175?:likey

My first bike was a Honda 100 back in about 1976 or 1977. I swear it was an XL 100 in red, but I've never seen another one like it since I started looking at old bikes again 10 years or so ago.

Looks a lot like the 100 and 125's pictures elsewhere in this thread, other than the color.

I did a little work on her. Has a title & it currently tagged for AZ. Rebuild top end, rebuilt carb, rebuilt handle bar controls, All new cables, tires & tubes, fork seals, seat cover, head & tail light lense. I polished the engine covers, front forks & handle bar switches. Runs really good! Everything now works, even the horn. Rust & dent free exhaust ($650 on ebay if you can find them) Rust free gas tank. I'm going to ask $1500 obo. Needs paint, side covers and a new owner. :) Sorry, dirty bike I'll post some clean & polished pics

If I could paint good, I would take this one to full restoration. It has 3400 original miles.

Sad to see her go but I sold her to someone from Chicago. He had driven out to CA for biz & stopped by & loaded her up.

She was a good pit bike but I need to support my new racing habit some way
