The pilot jet on a GT80 is gonna be especially small. If it sits for 6 months it might need to be cleaned again! Modern fuels don't like our old carbs too much ...

On the Service Manual there's a 73 version right here on this website in the Workshop. Might help.

Here's a link.

Definitely start with the pilot jet. Actually check pilot & main to make sure they are either stock, or adjusted for your altitude. We also have Mikuni tuning manual in the downloads. Get it and read it!

You can tell a professional by the lack of wrinkles in his duct tape.

Ebay has a lot of stuff, and so does www.NWVCP.com and they are a very good vendor. Yambits in the UK has a lot of GT80 stuff on their site - I think I recall seeing piston kits, clutch kits, and a lot more. Good vendors even with the overseas shipping

You should also PM Enduronut as he has a good collection of factory piston sets and is also a really good and fair priced machinist if you need your cylinder bored..

Post up some pics of your project.

Fixed the thread title.

Your bike "should" have looked like this new:

That is the same bike my son has. Many parts including carb parts appear to still be available for it, and there is a good supply on Ebay.

You might try Yambits in the UK as they have a lot of stuff too.
