What am I missing here? the wheel is way over to the right when mounted to the forks. Starting to wonder if the forks are even correct? Again, bought this bike already torn down packed in boxes.

You can see in this link the difference between your brake plate & the correct one. Do you have a speedo drive in yours?. Thinking you might have an IT175F brake plate which doesn't have a speedo drive but a separate drive on the other side of the wheel, as in the second link.

Hmm. Mine has the speedo gear in the brake plate. I've been racking my brain on this all day. My brake plate looks like the correct one according to partzilla as does the forks. Just scratching my head on this one right now.

Oh, damn, i'll go scratch head some more. Do you thing the wheels from the first model mono DT175 with straight axle forks, & your has leading axle forks from second generation. Sort of assuming this wheel has never been in these forks. I'm guessing a bit by memory--so i'll cheat & go look now lol.
Well the brake plate from first mono model at least, incase you bought plate & wheel as separate items.
Yep that'll be it.

Now the question is......Isn't the tube diameter 1mm smaller on the 78 forks compared to the 79?
