Last I heard Capt Dave had restored over 75 AT's alone, not to mention all the CT's as well.

Yes sir, well I had to replace the woodruff key that had come out some how. I’ve got the new one already installed. I’ve got my dial indicator in and zeroed it at T.D.C. and backed it to 1.8 to 2.0mm B.T.D.C. and looked at my points and they are wide open at this point. Do I move the bottom plate up or how do I set them? I’ve never done this before. Thanks

Once you have verified you have the flywheel in the correct location loosen the screw trough the hole in the flywheel and adjust the points to where the just start to open. I use a buzz box on mine. A multimeter can be used also.

Ok a little more information. With a buzz box you have to leads. One goes to black wire coming out of magneto. Other goes to a ground. Hope this helps.

I’ve got my dial indicator screwed into my cylinder hopefully correctly and so I’m going to try and rig up a buzz box or one with a light bulb.

Well, she’s running really good except for first part of of accelerating it sputtering and then it clears up and takes off like a bat out of hell. I wonder why it’s doing that on start off. Thanks again for everyone’s helping a brother out.

Carb problem, most likely. How's the idle? If OK, then try adjusting the position of the needle, the clip which holds it. But make sure your idle is good...you have the right size pilot, and you've set the idle and air screws correctly first. Sounds like your main is fine.
