General consensus is don't use the jets supplied with aftermarket carb kits. Gaskets and seals should be ok though.

Most original jets still available from Yamaha.

Still trying to find a headlight but I’ve been working on other things and ordering bike stuff.
Coils, wires,points,condensers etc.
I was able to borrow a cool Yamaha dial caliper with adapter to do my timing.

I have not found my box of R5 stuff with the headlights... I think I know where it has to be at my other place. I'll look tomorrow when I visit.

Very annoying when I know I have something and I can't find it... seems to happen a lot more often lately. :Ugh

Your old-timers syndrome is at stage 1.
I'm at stage 2 where I am finding things I didn't know I had.
Stage 3 is when you go looking for something, forget what it was, and then start doing something else.

Yes i'm at the stage of finding it after i've gone & bought another one. It's a guaranteed finding method.

Okay... I just remembered I had another box for my R5/RD400 project in a closet here... and there it was! I found the light itself but not the Honda box with the part number. One thing that's nice is it takes a standard H4 bulb.

Searching Partzilla I found what I think is the Honda part number 33120-MF5-751. When I bought mine several years ago it was still available from Honda for about $60 plus shipping. www.partzilla.com/product/honda/33120-MF...a07313893a9d04c2be86

I found that number on ebay and seller includes the bulb and rubber cover which is nice! Ebay one has the same "HM-34" number on the back as mine and looks the same. (The full number on mine is "HM-34M-S". Ebay number is washed out by flash)

It's not a perfect fit for the Yamaha but brackets are close enough that it can be made to fit. I think it's the "adjustment" bracket on the side that's shorter on the Honda... Take a look and compare to yours...

I'd also ask the ebay seller if they would measure for you to make sure it's the right 6 3/8" size or whatever oddball size they used. I have an old original Yamaha one and the Honda one I can take pics and measurements of it would help you.

Here's the link to the one on ebay. Sounds expensive but it's has a common and cheap replaceable bulb so should last a lifetime vs. the original sealed beams that are trash when they burn out.

P.S. R5 and RD350 use the same headlight.

I have a LOT of "spare parts" I've acquired by that method!
