Hello, I'm going to need a proper carb for my 1975 DT125. The one that came with it is a $20 Chinese carb and I would like to replace it. Anyone know where I can buy one? Thanks.,

Try Ebay or maybe another forum member has one to sell. Make sure if you get one off Ebay it is the correct one. I'm pretty sure but most of the carbs will have numbers stamped into them to ID them. And another important thing make sure wherever you get one , make sure none of the jets are stripped. Especially the pilot jet. That is the usual culprit if any. And ONLY use Mikuni jets. Maybe someone on the forum can tell you the ID number for a DT125b carb. I looked but could not find it yet.

If your 20 dollar chinese carb is working great why upset the bike. I put one on my 185 honda & was perfect out of the box. Mind you the honda carb was very worn in the needle jet like they typicaly do, so had to be better. Just saying!!

The reason I'm replacing it is because it's not running! We've traced the issue to the carb, as it's not getting fuel in the cylinder. Also I apologize for somehow putting this in the new members introduction, I was going to put it into "general" category.

Several on ebay... this one looks good (at least it's a really good price)... missing idle screw. The one from the Chinese carb might fit or it shouldn't be hard to find one.

How did you find that? I scoured Ebay for DT125 parts! That is absolutely perfect, consider it bought! I really appreciate you finding that, what key words did you use?

That means I can probably get it from my local dealer should I need it.

If it's not running & not getting fuel in the cylinder it won't be solely the fault of the Chinese Carb, or if the carb isn't getting fuel into the bowl then there should be an obvious reason like fuel tap blocked, or someones fitted the float upside down stopping it dropping to let fuel in. That type of thing. Or--if the motor isn't sucking then there's a more sinister internal problem like crank seal left or right has popped out. Just my thoughts for the day, be them on track or off lol.

Motor has 110 PSI, pet cock has been cleaned numerous times, new fuel line, and I've made sure it flows perfect. (hence the puddle of gas on the garage floor)
