 Welcome from NZ downunder. I had one same model & color but on reflection the "74 has the later tank. Think mine was as DT125EA, was 30+ years ago, trade in bike at work. Here's a random pic just googling showing the flip top tank.

That's what ours should look like we. Ours came with I think an AT tank and the wrong seat which has just been plonked on top and doesn't line up with the hinges

Looking at the date format on your photos, are you UK as well?

Check out the VIN tables in the Tech Library (see top tool bar) to id exactly which model you have.

Hi yes we are in the UK too. The bike is a dt 125a imported from the US

Just FYI in case you didn't know, that is not the correct fuel tank or seat for a US DT125...  they may work fine though.
