This damn thing is giving me fits! I've cleaned, set & checked the points numerous times. Cleaned the tank, fresh fuel, been through the carb (ultra sonic cleaner & compressed air). The flywheel hasn't spun on the crank, new plug.....and it still won't start. I get a wiff of smoke out the pipe, sometimes a pop but thats it.

The plug gets wet, blue spark, has compression.......

They flood easy, shoot a tiny shot of starting fluid in the carb and see if it pops, then you're close.

Update.

I borrowed a dial indicator, followed the manual on setting the timing, gave it shot of “start you bitch“ and it took off.
