I’m looking for replacement seat foam for a 1964 Yamaha yg1 trailmaster 80.... does anyone have any ideas on the best way to get one or make one?

If you haven't tried them yet, KDI (scroll down the page to see link on the right) might have suggestions.

Do you have the old foam, or anything that might be used as a pattern? If you have, and bear in mind that I'm only really thinking of this as short term fix, then an upholsterer might be able to construct something for you. I had this done for my RD350 - not perfect due to the density of the foam that was available to them, but quite acceptable.

Good luck.

They still run a lot of those little bikes around places like Thailand... single seat might be tough though.

On foam, do some research or see if you can buy some from a motorcycle seat maker. Most upholstery shop foam is way too soft. The only place I've found the right stuff is from a large foam distributor... I forgot the rating you need but info is on the internet. Good luck with the project!
