Any thoughts whether this will be in the spring or the fall? After years of waffling on the long drive, I might actually be able to attend.........

Endurofest 2020? #2
Dave will be the one to announce but usually the Endurofest events have been an early fall time frame.

There will be other opportunities for a spring event and late year things... again Dave Meis is the organizer.

Stay tuned

Slowpoke.....that's great news regarding your interest in attending Endurofest 2020.

Endurofest is a fall event in either September or early October.

There have been no decisions made regarding the 2020 ride....

Gfrench and I usually brainstorm a bit about it and then

I announce it.....

I am always open to suggestions :likey

So if anyone has a suggestion..... this thread is the perfect place to post them.

Hey Dave, I saw your post and are open for suggestions. How about we do a Gorman ride early next year? I am pretty busy this month plus I have a new years trip coming up in Barstow.

I have not taken any of my YZ450's out to Gorman yet so I'm very anxious to take them out next year!!:Throttle

Wow. Ten years already? What got me back into riding Enduros was an article I found on a European website (ClassicYams?) about the very first Endurofest... I was able to make contact with the legendary Mr. Meis and a few weeks later attended an event at Hungry Valley.... might have been a Full Moon Fever.

A badly broken leg/knee at Corona Raceway back in about 1978 kept me from riding bikes offroad for decades... and I've never been a "street" rider... didn't keep me from building and racing two strokes... had a lot of fun and success with little offroad cars like the Honda FL250 and FL350...

Anyway, the years were kind to me and my bad leg got better and stronger over the decades. No more limping and somehow I could straighten my leg completely again! (Something the doctors thought would never happen on its own) I showed up to the event and met a great group of guys... the fact that I hadn't ridden in forever (and it really showed!) didn't make a difference. I was welcomed and had a great time!

Life tends to get in the way and I know how easy it is to say "I'll make it to the next one". They say that the worst regrets in life are the opportunities not taken... I've made it to several Vintage Enduro events since my first and had a great time at all of them! And yes, my only regrets are the events I didn't make it to...

Yes, life is too short and tends to get in the way... I urge anyone who has ever wanted to attend an event hosted by Meis and/or GFrench and has been stuck in the "next time" trap to change that thinking to making it "THIS time". You won't regret it!

This is so true! I’m missing the upcoming event in SoCal, but will hopefully make Endurofest when it is announced this year. Always a great time and a special bunch of folks in attendance!

IF it isn't one thing, it's another.

Very well said Mark with all your comments- it is amazing when you sit back and think about how all of us have meet over the years thru these events and have really developed some lifelong friendships as I consider all you my dear friends for sure.

Most of us are in the same age group... we all know our riding days are in a countdown stage and we also understand clearly just how fast 5 years, 10 years or more go by. Over the past few years we have lost some good guys and can still see their faces in my rear view mirror with a big smile and having the time of their lives... still remember clearly hearing this for one that has passed "this is once in a life experience" and just few months later he passed away.

I am thankful for Dave Meis who is always ready and excited to put an event together and to have open discussions on any ideas's or places to hold the next great one! I am sure Endurofest 2020 will provide another great location!

I cannot wait for Endurofest 2020- I can assure you it will be what I am sure another once in a lifetime experience to attend and ride someplace in our Amazing great Western part of the United States!

So... My advice for each of you... don't put it off as next time may not come and start working on your bikes TODAY to get them ready to come out and just relax- ride at whatever level you do as NOBODY will put anybody in a situation as we are there to have fun and enjoy our great passion for these GREAT old bikes and have the opportunity to sit around the campfire at night and share some amazing stories and pretend like we all are still in our early youth!
