It’s been a long winter, motorcycles are buried. Here’s some winter fun riding the old snow machines.
Only way to keep sane!

If it has two wheels and an engine, I'll ride it.

Did realize vintage snowmobiles were popular. The one and only time I rode a snowmobile was at Mammoth Ca. about 1974. I think it was a Ski Do.

1968 was the first year Yamaha made snowmobiles, here’s a picture of one .
It had a unique autolube system the pump was fan belt driven off the clutch.
Not many of the first year models around

thanks Kobuk!

These are the vintage snowmobiles that I remember. Had a 10HP model similar to this one pictured until buying a Yamaha 338 similar to the one in this video. Winter dirt bikes!

Not so vintage, but I got my first experience working on a snowmobile this winter, a friend owns an '03 Skidoo and it needed a new track. How hard can it be I thought? Little did I know, snowmobile engineers must had heard this challenge before and answered it well. Give me an old Enduro to work on any day!

I had a 74 Chaparral SSX 340 liquid cooled sled that I sold right before I started collecting these dang Yamaduro's. It only had about 800 miles on it when I sold it.

I was reading this thread and it reminded me of a stator issue I had years ago. I bought a points / condenser stator supposedly from a 250A to convert my 400C. In my research and investigating try to figure out what it came off of I discovered the early Yamaha snowmobile engines had stators very similar if not the same as the enduros. So if you're in a snowmobile graveyard it may be something worth looking at.

Funny you should mention that. I picked up a DT400C over the weekend. No spark as of yet. I've since become aware of it's achilles heel the "pulsar". Being I'm in Florida I don't think we have any snowmobile graveyards just the regular kind and alot of them. I may have to go the DT250 points route. We'll see

Or does anybody else know
