I picked this '70 about a year ago and finally got around to making some head way. This is a 70' motor using a short stroke crank with a '71 reed top end. I have an old expansion chamber that I am rewelding to run down (with silencer) Here is the 1st day pic and a few pics of the bike in it's current condition. It has 19" rims & the front is laced to a T500 brake. I will extend the front of the fiberglass seat to butt the tank. It is titled and the registration is on temporary hold. I'm only installing a small battery with a headlight & brake/tailight. I know this might fry the purists out here, but I'm liking the way this gas tank fits the frame :)

Here is a pic fitting the 71 piston on the 70 motor w/71 rod. Then the rest of the stuff :)
I wanted to add a picture of the 91 octane machining that was done on the stock head.

That front wheel is very interesting. Looks like it should stop short!

I really like the way that it looks. The 1968 pipe is worth a small fortune. I noticed the way that you gussetted the frame in the tail section. The piston reminds me of some of the work that they’re doing on Hodaka. Looks great. Should be a screamer.

Thanks and yes, this is the roller I started with. the only thing I kept for racing was the motor, pipe & gas tank. Instead of selling the parts I thought
I'd put together a quick little street tracker as this frame is registered. I'll post a pic soon as there has been some progress.

FIRE IN THE HOLE!!:OnFire
She fired up today on the 2nd kick, I used my mini bike gas tank. The folding peg worked well with the modified kick start lever. I'm running a DT1 stock mag set up I rescued a while back. I have the battery tray dropped in behind the motor, it's mounted on 2 small rails. after I finish the wiring I'll yank everything and repaint the frame. The tank is off being prepped for paint. I'm not running the pump or tank because of some light mods & the expansion chamber.
Left to weld....the mount to the swing arm for the rear brake stay and the mount for the rear brake light switch. I have the silencer completed but still need to pack it and a little touch up welding and grinding to do in a few places.

Jack's checking out my progress :)
