1984 Yamaha IT 250 fork spring was created by SWB

I was able to pick up a fairly complete 1984 IT 250 and now I need to go about making it trail worthy for next spring. Pogo stick suspension is one of the biggest issues I am looking at right now. Does any know the stock fork spring ratings? I would like to know that so I can start to search for heavier ones.

I did a check with my parts providers and non sell parts for the 84 IT250. Race Tech Suspension doesn.t have the 84 in their drop down list either. They do show the 83 model which had a different rear suspension than the 84 which was an updated mono-cross. I do not know if the front forks used the same springs, but race Tech shows the stock spring rate of the 83 model as 0.295 kg/mm. Per Race Tech the stock spring is soft. The softest spring they sell is 0.42.

Front forks on this one are definitely soft so I’m sure they are stock. I’ll check with Racetech for their advice on weighting for my size. Thanks for the information..
