I have some very good friends !

Got a text message this morning about 11:00 am about a bike that was listed 30 minutes before. I wasn't feeling good at all. Horrible would describe it accurately. I decided that if I didn't go get it -- somebody else would and then I would feel even worse. If I passed on the bike I would feel even worse. I got the address from the seller's neighbor, since the ladies husband recently passed away and it was his one owner bike. I arrived at about 2:00. Unfortunately, for the last five years the bike is been outside covered, but it had a pink slip and everything was there. The motor is free.

The bikes name has been changed to:

"CROSS-EYED MARY"

My truck was bouncing on the freeway. I did not know that this motorcycle weighs nearly 300 pounds. With a 100 pound versahaul ramp, wow.

At least now I have a plan of attack to get it running. Just doing the basic stuff.

Hopefully the previous owner after going through the garage which happens to have a hot rod in it, which relegated the motorcycle outside will find the following items and contact me. Knowing that it was an original owner and that he was very meticulous about things somewhere in that garage are:

Headlight
Bucket
Ears
Bulb
Rim
Speedometer
Tachometer
Perch
Cables
Tail light
A 2nd. 21" extra front tire.

If all of these items are recovered it will be worth paying the asking price. If not
c'est la vie !

I was wondering because your first post said "everything was there" and the pictures showed a "stripped down for off road" bike... hope the PO finds and you get the street equipment! Looks like a great find in any case! :likey

Cold air boot
Air filter ?
Good seat pan
Wires to headlight bucket good ?
Wires to tail light good ?
Seat better than fair for 44 years.
Clean no rust seen in tank ( drained ) ?

Double post. Nothing from the previous list of things to do has been accomplished.

.

That's the Yamaha accessory machine gun mounting bracket, that attaches to the front fender . . . . . whistle:
