I am restoring 74 DT360 and it has no carb. The stock Carb was VM30-SS and I can't find any alternative new carb the same size much less a used one. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just use a 32 and widen up the exhaust port 2 mm.Or just rejet the the carb as gains will not be signifigant anyways. This is assuming the rubber intake is able to stretch,if not an MX 250a intake used a 32 I think.

Try www..SUDCO.com and look under the Mikuni VM section. There you will find a good replacement close to stock. Their customer support is very helpful too.

Yes I was looking on Sudco and seeVM30-83 that might work. I was looking at the dimensions and I must have wrong airboot. I bought one from CSM and the diameter is 45mm and looks like the VM30's had about 58mm diameter.

You should talk with Enduronut about this if you can chase him down as he has extensive experience doing these mods.I SAY that you can just widen up the exhaust 2mm and run the 32 but realize that is really only 1 mm of material change and amounts to not much more than cleanup of casting flaws and rounding up the factory casting.A big change like you are quoting of the intake tract is bound to have major consequences.
Talk with EN before spending any more money on parts that may not even work.Good luck

Bluntz, the 1974 DT360A had a 30 mm carb stock on them. the DT400 had the 32 mm carb. 1974 was the last year for the jet setter and O ring on the big bore Enduros.

I think the MX 250 may have had a 30 but the 32 should be quite common if the DT 400 came with them.I thought they had 34s though. :Ugh

After some research and suggestions I have found that the VM28-49 is very close in size and is apparently common for this size bike. I may order new one from ebay. If I go with the 30 or 32 then I will have to come up with a new boot. Trying to keep it as original as possible.

it's ok Bluntz. :likey the 1977-78 DT400 had the 34 mm carb. the 1975-76 DT400 had a 32 mm carb. the 1974 DT360A had a 30 mm carb. the 1974-76 DT250 had a 28mm carb.

not to go off topic or anything but the 1968-73 DT series 250 had a 26 mm carb while the DT1 MX and possibly the DT2 MX had a 30 mm carb.

the 1970-73 RT series 360 Enduro had a 32 mm carb while the MX versions of the 1970-71 and possibly the RT2 MX had a 34 mm carb.

yes this can be confusing at times and I dealt with it myself and I am sure others had too. it is too easy to get confused on this.

another thing about the MX250 but I think the 73-74 MX250 had a 34 mm carb and the 1975 MX250 had a 38 mm carb. this I am not 100% sure about but I know the 1975 MX250 had the 38 mm carb for sure.

Canull7004, that 1974 DT360A is looking sweet! I always liked how the 1974 DT250A and DT360A looked. they are very good looking bikes themselves.
