Yes, all original yamy ones are steel. I remember in my YZ125 days about 1978 Yamaha sent us some experimental reeds of thinner steel. didn't work any better though, probably worse.

thanks for the confirmation.

Yamaha really made some good bikes for the times. Today, I pulled out the reed valves for inspection and was shocked to see they appeared in excellent condition.
