I have a 78 DT400. I have converted to 12v and I need a new battery. I would
like a sealed type of battery to fit the original battery box....any suggestions.

Also looking at my wiring diagram I see the negative battery terminal gets
grounded to the frame. What Im not sure of is there another connection
in to the wiring harness for the negative?

TIA!!

Good evening from the UK Blazer.

I'm not familiar with your particular bike. However, I have attached a picture of the main wiring harness from the parts manual and this shows 2 ring connectors which I would imagine sit on bolts which attach something to the frame. I would suggest that these might be the additional earths that you are looking for.

Yes that is what I have been looking at. Mine are intact. I was wondering if
earthing the battery is good enough. Thanks for the input.

I found the wire I was looking for. It was wrapped in black electricians tape and blended in real good LOL.
Now I need to figure out a battery.

Good news.

If you haven't done so already, search the forum to see if anyone has already raised this as a question.

I have searched the forums. It seems not much available battery wise in 12v. But after
extensive research I have decided on a Motobatt MB3U. It is a exact replacement
size wise. Nice thing is that it is a glass mat battery made specifically for motorcycles
and high vibrations applications. My project is moving along nicely. But of course as I get
into it I decide to do this and that and it extends the timeframe of when it will be done.

I sympathise, although in my case I have 4 restos on the go where I keep on finding new things that need doing and I also need to find time to put parts that I have duplicates of on ebay. Manana, manana!!
