1980 MX175G Barnett Clutch / Cushion Ring was created by turdferguson

Hi all!  I’m rebuilding a 80’ MX175G and going through the motor.  Great compression but all the seals were leaking.  Have that all sorted and now I’m into the worn out clutch.  Basket and everything else looks great, but just wanted to upgrade the friction disks.  I’m having a hard time getting the friction plates over the factory rubber cushion rings.  There is a significant gap between the stock plates and the rubbers but it will just not go with the Barnett units as they are much taller. Do you eliminate the rubber?  Have a call into Barnett but it’s Sunday and they are closed.  Me and my son are in a standstill until we get an answer!

Welcome!

Leave them out.  They won't fit with Barnett and are not really needed anyway,

I concur with Mark T, leave them out, they're not needed.

Barnetts went right on without the cushion rings.  Thanks for everyone’s help!
