Chain tension block dimensions #1
Recently acquired a 1979 DT175 in sad shape. I have been rebuilding it and it is going well.

One thing missing is the chain tension block and guide. I went to order both and only found the guide. The tension block is NLA. I have since found ebay suppliers of the block but they want big $$. Since I have a big block of UHMWPE (chain rubbing stuff) I thought I would make one.

Problem is I do not know the rough size. Can someone give me a rough overall LxWxH dimensions so I could cut the rough block? I will be able to get the hole locations and diameter based on the bracket and the upper part of the guide is curved which should be easy to duplicate.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Hey Mike and Welcome from So. Cal.

There are plenty of blocks on Ebay That are real cheap but if you don't check the part number ( 2N0-22178-00-00 ) you can get all kinds of trouble.
The guide may cost abit.
You can always get it and measure to make a spare !

I bought one a few years ago... searching by part number, Partzilla has it in stock. It's one of those parts that is mislabeled in some of the diagrams... Pretty sure it fits the early IT175 and some of the YZ125's... it definitely fits the RT180 which is what they list it for. Go figure.

Reminds me of the discontinued DT50 rubber damped exhaust mount that is still used on the YZ85.

Perfect! I had figured the 50 and guessed at the 30/25 but was confused on the width (26)

And thanks to the others for the links. I may just buy one and make a spare. Not sure yet. It is winter and I have lots of time to tinker.
