hope it's not too late. The correct ones for RT2 are these from Diabolo:
I've allready tried them but the are not easy to stick on in the correct position. And if you try to pull them away and reposition them (of course I did it wet with a soap solution), they easily destort because they are very thin. And because they are also flat and the tank has a radius you have to work out lost of tiny bubbles.
So, on my second gas tank I prefered to use only the original Yamaha sticker and sticked the lines with small outline tape from Scotch. First I sprayed white, sticked again with outline tape and sprayed the black inside part. You can use cheap acyrl color for this job. For the finish I gave it back to the painter who put two clear coatings over it. This was all in all much easier and looked better in the end, than the first tank.
HI Franjo, thanks for the pictures and information. The tanks look great, especially the painted strips. Your RT2 tank is different than my US RT2. This is my original tank,
And here's the tank I'll be putting the decals on and clear coating,
I had read where other people had problems with the decals like you have because they very thin and hard to work with, and they did not offer the RT2 decals like mine. So I bought ebay decals from seller Vintage Mt and they just arrived today. They are exact copy of the original, exact same size letters and they also have instructions on how to apply that is going to be helpful.
You are right Kenny,
the 72 design is different to 73. My fault. But the tanks are the same in US and here in Europe. The baja brown on the picture is from a US-bike I bought on Ebay and imported to Germany. ;-)
