Just picked up a pretty complete CT2. The choke knob will not stay out in the choke position, I would imagine there should be a detent or some mech to hold it out in the choke position. Any clues before I tear into it. Thank you.

Just went out and tried mine, and there really is no feeling of detent; it just sticks at the end of the pull. If you think it would help, both the plunger and the rubber plunger cap are still available from Yamaha. I just rebuilt one like it on another bike.

32, it drags on the choke shaft till the groove in the shaft gets caught by it. looks like not available so just see if you can give the old clip a squeeze but shaft groove might be very worm & have a rounded edge so just wants to slip past. Should be visible under the cap/seal thingy the shaft slides through.
