New to forum. I have a very nice original AT3 that looks and runs like new. I have heard that a 175 top end is a straight swap. Any thoughts on doing this? Worth the expense or should I just leave it alone. Thanks for any input.

Haven’t done it myself, but by all accounts here, yes. Do some searches here and you should find plenty of info. I have a top end ready to go myself.

Get a CT2 OR CT3 top end. Bolts right on, reed, carb air cleaner are the same.

The only change is from a 35 pilot jet to a 25 pilot jet.

I`m trying to keep it simple and it is. You don`t even have to change the pilot jet. I`ve done several. Throw it on and crack the throttle, hang on.

Welcome. swapping to 175 on an AT2 or AT3 the only comment i'll make is when you kick start it don't baby it but engage the kick start as high up as it'll start kicking from & follow it through. Don't smash the lever down wildly or it 'could' blow the circlip off the internal gear stop where it moves out on the shaft. If you kick it softly it 'could' kick back & damage the kick gears. In saying 'that' i'd swap it over & raise the gearing for the road. I've done it on my AT1 but they have a slightly heavier flywheel than the AT3/CT3.

Thanks to all. Regarding NW Vintage, they were an excellent source for my Twin Jet projects and sad to hear they closed up shop. Always willing to help.
