Sound like you'll have to start again i'm sorry to say. But just to be sure, have you lifted the cylinder off to confirm 'that. If the conrod won't swing then ok that's toast, but if the rod swings & the crank is seized & won't revolve then perhaps check that something in the magneto hasn't come adrift & got caught up with the magnets & coils. Also remove the clutch cover to check the crank nut hasn't wound off into the cover. All those things are very unlikely but i've seen it all in 50 years of HT1's & others. Still wish i hadn't sold my HT1.

Really trashed is subjective. So what froze? Crank bearings can be replaced and crank surfaces can be rebuilt. I had Crankworks out in Arizona replace my connecting pin (between the two halves of the crank) for my DT400C. While there they noticed some pitting on magneto side oil seal surface so they ground it down, built it back up and polished to original tolerance. They balanced the crank too and I've put about 800 carefree miles on the bike this summer. They have connecting rod kits there too if they find the connecting pin was the culprit (frozen connecting rod). Now....if a crank bearing locked up and spun in the case...then yes it is "trashed". Good luck.

Yes, pictures or something would be helpful... pull the head off and let's see what bore and piston look like.

My first guess would be maybe no working Autolube (or oil mixed in the gas) and piston seized... or piston in backwards and ring caught in port?

Nothing is impossible, strange stuff happens. It's just not likely to have a crank that was okay seize solid after 2 minutes. And if it did, it should be repairable?

Pistons rings were replaced and free. Try to get pictures . My friend said it was crank that siezed. Ill ask if it spun bearings.

I agree with MarkT, take apart, may not be as bad as you believe.

Thanks Mark

If piston isn't seized then pulling the head and cylinder is very easy. Then it will be easy to tell if rod went bad.

Don't discount RT325's post as if it's not the piston stuck then it's more common to be something on the flywheel or clutch sides of the crank.

(You'd have to split the cases to see if a bearing spun in the case and that's not very common at all... and if it spun badly like it would tend to if engine was running, crank would turn, not easy, but would turn.)

These bikes are tough and not that hard to fix most of the time... nobody is really giving you "other options" because the best option is usually just fixing what you have. Can't know until the details of what happened and what the actual damage is are known.
